Second Chance

I open my eyes and I'm covered in total darkness

I try to find my way around although I can't see

But I know I can't find my way around

I close my eyes again and start to remember

You and I are on our first date

I walk up to you to greet you

But knowing you, you probablely got here early

I take off my scarf and put it on you and wrapped my hands around yours

Soon I took away your coldness that winter night

I took your hands and started to walk

But I realized that time had gone forward

You and I don't have time to spare anymore

Always busy with work and less time together

Yet time moves once more into the future

I see our children that you and I share

However they aren't able to feel both parents love

You and I have gone our separate ways

Nevertheless time moves forward yet again

I'm losing concensness in the hospital

If only we had met in a different way

I would of treated you much better than before

As I remember our time spent together on that winter night

This time I see a speck of light

I open my eyes to see a movie playing

Your fast asleep on my shoulders holding my hand

I knew I had been given a second chance with you

When you opened your eyes I said "I love you"

All you did was smile and replied "I love you too"
