Eyes staring up
To the lovely and strong
Oh, Middy Ocre
Play me a song

That song you do play
The hum of my life
It's always to stay
Stuck in like a knife

I know it quite well
I've heard it before
The sound ofย ย my hell
A fresh closing door

Slammed square on my jaw
What did I expect?
No one ever saw
The sounding prefect

I came, then I went
With hardly a glance
I knew I was spent
I had not a chance

For that song in my ears
And everywhere else
Never drew tears
But bolded itself

It stood way up high
Embrazoned in gold
I started to cry
Belittled and cold
A poem about perpetual and inescapable mediocrity.
