Know before you speak.
Try to be gentle, try to be meek.
Listen to understand,
Not to win the argument,
Or to have the upper hand.

People sometimes need an ear.
Are you willing to give?
Will you be sincere?
Knowledge prevents disaster
It helps with empathy, and it eases fear.

I talked with my mother today.
I found out that she was in pain.
I talked with my brother today.
I found out that he was just the same.

If I had not have listened,
my harsh opinions would've remained.
If I had not have listened,
I would not have seen how my speeches were stained.

Stained with opinions formed from the unknown.
Stained with an arrogance, to keep from being alone.
Stained with hypocrisy, because I sin at midnight.
Stained with darkness, but masked as light.

Knowledge prevents disaster.
So know before you speak.
I had a talk with my victims,
From this, I learned to be meek.
