If only you knew
Just how upset I get
When these differences occur

How I wish right now
For a child or two
To demand my attention

Then I would stop thinking
how much and how much
I’ve upset you and myself

There should not be this unsettling
When I know what fields of love
Have been sown by the outward throw

Of our own hands to germinate
Bring forth nod and bend
In summer’s warm breeze

Taking the rain taking the wind
turning through green into gold
Ripe ready for harvest home

If only you knew
Just how upset I get
When these differences occur
