I stand here waiting
For my last grain of sand
So I can see my lover
My greatest friend
Because the lord took her away
Before my chance
To make her my forever
Until the end

So I must be good
To see her again
And make every grain count
Just for her
To show her that I will always
Put our love first
Even though losing her
Felt the worst

I miss the sparkling star
I saw in her eyes
The same one I see
In the late night sky
When we used to drink
Those bottles of wine
And when just one look at her
Sent chills down my spine

It should have been me
You should have been mine
Now I’ll have to wait
For my sand of time
To drop it last grain
And take me back home
To the on that I love
The love of my life
