Bruised

And I’m so tired

And I’m so beaten

I’m sore and used

Every time I stand up

I keep getting bruised

The world never stops

The world never quits

It keeps on going,

Even if I persist

I can't stop change

I can't change the norm

I can't even hold on

To what was once warm

I tried to once, a long time ago

Only to lose

And learn to let go
