Last night
but
a morning in the future.

We lay in bed
I'm no morning person
and sun hits our warm bodies.

You sleep
later than me
which is odd.

And do you know
that
I love you so much
that I lay there tangled up in you
even though the sun shines in my eyes?

Do you know that
I love you so much that
I'm staying in bed
when my bladder
and heart are about
to burst?

Do you know that
I love you so much
that I lay, waiting.
Waiting to burst, to kiss, to stretch my legs out and stop staring into the morning sun,
do you know that I do this all for you,
as you sleep?
