An aura of perfume outlasts the embrace
billowing around my head, bittersweet
with hints of being vaguely incomplete,
as the softened curve of a smiling face
follows the lingering glow of affection;
although, these feelings come unbidden
proclaiming myths about paradise hidden
within love and life’s fragile intersection.
