No more hearts, no more sweeter loving hearts,
Perhaps I should retract my playing cards.
Once it starts, there's no turning back,
Walking alone through boulevards, love's intricate track.

Uttering those words, irreversible as they are,
Your heart loses guards, fate in your lover's star.
In their hands, they hold the power,
To lift you high or cast you in the sand, in this love hour.

It's wild how three words can hold such sway,
Each utterance expanding your heart in its own way.
Recall when your heart danced to the band,
Now, to music, it's as cold as ice, hard to understand.

Blood, no longer pure, tainted by love's allure,
Running through your veins, a richness so poor.
Only your lover stirs that heart, nothing else for sure,
Love's magic, an eternal allure.

Always love, a paradox so right,
A journey from childishness to maturity in love's light.
Love, the poison, the cure,
A complex elixir, forever obscure.
