You are a princess
They tell us
And we begin to believe
That a charming young man
On a white horse
Is our destiny.

And the years go by
While we patiently wait
For our one true love,
Making so many mistakes in between.
But never giving up that thought
Of our beautiful dream.

Until the day comes
When we are so terribly deceived.
The one who we thought
Would be ours forever
Leaves.

And that is the day
We realize
How foolishly we believed
That we were princesses
And a charming young man
On a white horse was our destiny.

So we pick up the pieces of
Our shattered life
And start a new belief.
‘We are not princesses ‘
We tell them.
And we will not wait
For the men to set us free.

Instead from now on,
We shall take matters
Into our own hands,
And be the reason of a new era
The one not based on ‘he'.
