i never knew
how you could do
everything that you knew
changing from black and blue
to eight-track and debbie sue
i hear you calling
never knew your name
figure you're eight or seven
and that's my kind of game.

picked you up and dusted you off
never really cared
to me it was just irrelevant
to you it wasn't there
i told myself not to be the one
you said you thought you knew
oh what ever happened
to that little boy, debbie sue?

one chance we might encounter
one day we might meet again
oh but how would that be
if were weren't more than friends
so i beg you reconsider
turn your back against your will
and follow me to the doorstep
take the other pill.
