DESERTED GRAVEYARD

.

Gaunt  trees in skeleton  reach down

their shadowed fingers crawl and grasp

forgotten stones and empty urns.

Where centuries of pain lie trapped

and empty hands reach out

for earthly title dispossessed

Primeval fear and piercing wail

the earthless fate of those beneath

denied the arches of the sky.
