I stood there and bared my heart once and all
You responded by raising the emotional  wall
Treat me like an acquaintance
Cold stare, ice me out.
I walk away because I don’t want to shout.
I feel so rejected and broken with guilt
Hurt that you’re hurting, my worlds on a tilt
Heartbroken for all we’ve had to go through
Oh, to be a wife deserving of you!
A knot in my gut. A ball in my throat
Cool and calm, almost a gloat.
Your eyes glaze over, my man has gone
Don’t know who’s left, just somebody, someone.
