Jan 2019
Rain smears across the windshield,
hushed tires roll down the dark countryside.
Trees with bark as black as the stormy night sky
walk single file into the darkness.
Words flow effortlessly between us in the heated cabin.
The gentle discussion of ideas and emotions are as endless as the pattering moisture from the moonless sky.
So numerous are the drives we have taken together.
So many fights started and ended on those back roads.

No matter the years that pass by like fleeting shadows.
No matter the seasons dancing from hot to cold.
You are my life, my sun, my everything.
I cannot begin to count the miles we have traveled together. My only wish is to have us drive together into the forevers.
