When you love someone or something
You tend to give it all you've got
Every last piece of it
Ever last piece of you
Like its the only thing that matters

My mother once told me a couple times that she loved me
But she never give to me all that she had
Never gave me every bit of her

I just don't understand - I thought that's what you do
when you love someone
You're always there for them
No matter what right?
So why wasn't she always there for me
Why wasn't she there when I needed her
To protect me  - to love me - to make me happy

She didn't give me all of her
Never did she once put it all in
Never did she ever prove to me that she loves me

They say a mother's love is greater than anything
But..My love for her exceeds all
