As I lay upon the moon,
Wishing once to see you soon,
Twice ran across my ear
The crimson song I did not hear,

For as the stars laid down to sleep,
Dreamed I once you did not creep
Away from me, but twice I lied
That ever you could be denied

Of the million galaxies lost in space
That I once imagined could be traced
By glances twice thrown toward your eye.
Alas, that selfish thought was why

I chose to lay upon the moon,
Wishing once to see you soon,
Seeing twice you hold your place,
While I remain drifting out in space.
