Adrift above a field
Warm light and cool breeze mix amid my yellows and blacks.
Weary are my eyes
Staring at the horizon for a brighter day.
Weary are my wings
Flitting from purple, to red and then to blue.

Dangerously close to being carried by the breeze
Far away from my goal. My eyes nearly close.

Sudden and amazing life returns to my limbs.
All other shades and shapes turn to grey and fade away.
Bright are your petals that shine in all directions.

I have reached my sun and my stars.
Forever will my days be illuminated in your astounding light.
A week of poems for my wife. I just hope these words will come close to the awesome love I have for her.
