Love Through Pain and Glory

Love. The irony of it.
Lasts a year or just a minute.
Some love just to say they did it.
But only very few ever win it.
It’s hard, difficult, and oh so heavy.
It’s so bad that nobody is ever ready.
We try and try hard to keep it steady.
And just like that’s it’s done already.

While roses are still red and violets are still blue.
Nothing will help what happens to you.
And yes I might have bit more than I could chew,
But it doesn’t explain the way I loved you.
It’s the worst to see you go.
And even worse when you walk slow.
The point is that you should know.
That I was shot with your ammo.

I too was in love with someone.
And just like that it was over and done.
But look at the person that I have become.
Because every new day starts with the sun.
It was the best thing that ever happened to me.
And I soared as high as I could be.
And then reality set upon the scene.
And turned so very dark from the bright green.

Oh and how the tables turned,
How every little thing I earned
Was twisted and shook and burned.
But I burned more than I learned.
It’s funny how things didn’t work out,
How all I want to do now is scream and shout.
It’s crazy how they were all I talk about.
And now they are really gone, without a doubt.

Seize the moment is what they say.
But don’t they understand it’s not the day.
Not the day to mean what you say.
And not the day where it’s time to play.
And yes I was crying and I did bawl.
But through it all, I stood tall.
I faced the love, I faced it all.
And now I’m bigger and not so small.
