Dec 2018
My time is running out
But I'll wait for you
I'll wait when the bluebirds sing
And blossoms grow on trees
And children run through meadow grass
That's up to their knees
I'll wait when the weather grows hot
And you swim in my lakes
And you tan on my beaches
And you climb in my trees
And you have fun with my creatures
I'll still wait
I'll wait in the autumn
When the leaves grow sick and die
And you have your pumpkin spice
And you dress up against my cold
While I wait for Fate to roll the dice
I'll wait when everything is dead
When everything is covered with snow
And as you curse me for my cold
Me, who sustains your life
And all throughout my waiting, you are unaware
Of the harm you subject me to
So I'll wait
I'll wait for you to realize what you've done
And I'll watch as you realize it's too late
And I'll watch as you choke on my gas
I'll watch as you deplete my resources
I'll watch as you slowly die off
And I, with my ozone layer
Destroyed by you
Finally fail
I'll wait for the Sun, then
To supernova in its fiery wave
Because I gave you all
And you threw it away
