Dec 2018
The dying breathe the hardest at the last minute, all of life goes by in a flash
The heat of life's many summers leaving, eternal cold awaits the flesh
And you can't tell me any different, no matter what your idea of the after
Your strength and might will fail to pen this phase of your chapter
And all your money, your women, your house of illusions fade away
When the night ever so gently calls, here dreams will hold no sway
Whether one be guilty of innocence,he shall be tried nonetheless
The trials of your humanity will be seen through a fair lens
And you can't tell me any different, no matter what your allegiance
I've been that man who has spent a lifetime siding with ignorance
