I am superman,
I don't have his strength,
or his courage,
I have his resistance to pain.
Harsh words bounce off me,
falling to the ground.
They don't hurt.
How could they?
I've heard all bad things that anyone could think.
It used to hurt me,
I used to let it get to me.
Now it doesn't hurt anymore.
I'm in my flak vest,
they can't get through to my heart.
Those are old wounds.
Words can't hurt me anymore,
I've heard it all.
