He says farewell with a smile

Cheeks scrunched up
To hide the wells from clawing out of his eyes

His heart sinks into a pool of sorrow
As he holds her in his arms one last time

The road of anguish ahead fills his thoughts
How can one simply have so much influence
Over his ever descending state he wonders

But he cannot let it show
For exposing would reveal the selfish desires within

He knows he doesn't belong in her picture

So as he waves goodbye
He fades from existence
Never to be seen again
