This gorgeous liquid light
Spilling over the horizon
Dripping onto our buildings and flooding our streets
Mixing with the river to make some devious potion

This golden, rosy, saturated sky
Folding over into the ethereal plane
Mending the gap between this very earth
And the heavens

Cutting open the clouds to let the angels fall
And greet us with golden wings
Bringing halos of our own as gifts;
settlements and apology for being gone so long
And so distant into the clouds
