Dec 2018
Walked in, saw him caressing her hair,
My heart cried out, firing its desperate flare.
Stepped back, wan face vanishing into thin air,
The love of my life might soon be in his arms somewhere.

The thought gave me a scare,
Messed it up a hundred times with her.
A pinch sweet, a ton of selfish, an unkind affair,
A million careless, love slipping into thin air.

Losing the only true one,
She finds the current state despicable, nothing can be done.
Fixing needs time, she won't wait, it's undone,
Chances diminishing, the heart now weighs a ton.

Forever numb, cut loose,
Left with nothing but smokes and *****.
In the shadows, emotions diffuse,
A heartbroken soul, paying life's dues.
