beeps are rattling the brain tonight
jewels and flashing lights yellow, then red
caution, red, heart rate has risen, blood pressure
too pressurized
wheres the salvation
in certain death and certain pain
it lies in the seemingly empty moments
car rides so short they feel as if they
didn’t happen at all
filled with the sounds of music
or conversation
siamese connection at the mid section
your lover is on your skin
savoring the seemingly empty moments
in sitting with your creator the only
immediate god you have
and the other version of yourself
right there with you
you do not get to be bored
or discontented, for you are alive
and the beeps that rattle the brain
like jewels, and the seams temporarily
holding the guts that you are together
and exterior organs, they are transient
temporary scratches on the eyes of life
blinding you too its truest potential
you are alive and every moment kills you
