What is poetry?

It is a
conniving,
ungrateful,
misrepresenting,
vile,
constantly misleading,
twisted,
agonizingly spiteful,
universally recognized
swindle of the whole

What is poetry?
It is a
wondrously natural,
exquisite,
smile-provoking,
lively,
vividly arresting,
remarkably altering
ripple of the whole

And I’m just here
using these agreed upon sounds
to express these messages through the planet-round

I guess I won’t be writing that piece about how we live anymore….
