He never asked for anything
When they nailed Him to the cross
To pay the price for all human kind
For, He alone, could pay the cost

The Maker of the moon and stars
In the Heavens up above
Would show us all the meaning
Of this word that we call love

All alone, and deserted
Not once did ever He falter
All our sins are wiped away
When we meet Him at the altar

The Maker of all the rivers and seas
There were none before Him, He was the First
The creator of all the waters
But yet, He said, "I thirst"
