Just One Moment
The moments here stretch long,
Passing not as well they should,
But time's a stirsome nemesis,
Patience shown, your ground is stood.
Yet each victory rings hollow,
As no mercy is retained;
Every could've's gone forever,
Only dids, and deeds, remain.
And so the grief comes bidden
For the past that might have been,
And the future remains hidden
By time's maw of depths unseen.
What was is a chimaera,
What will be: a siren's song;
All that's true is just to be,
In just one moment stretching long.
