Survivors Guilt
You woke up that morning
Just like any other day
Forgetting anything can happen
So it happened, anyway
"What a shame", they will say
But they didn't know us
If they did they wouldn't speak;
Only sit in a hallowed hush
The worst part is that we knew.
We knew about death.
But you never think it will happen-
Not to you, just the rest
If I could start all over again
When I think about you and me
I wouldn't do things much different...
But I'd be holding your hand,
Constantly.
