Dec 2012
It's been four nights straight
of witnessing your self absorption
three long days
of pained response and selfish boredom
It's clear that we've failed you again
by tainting all that superior air that surrounds you
A shame your golden roots draw from this stem
Go on home now
It's clear that we've failed you again

Perpetually unimpressed
how did you earn the right to pass those judgments?
close your eyes and spin
arms open
They say that blood is thick
It sticks around when water's running
yours is long gone
good riddance

Before it was twelve straight years
Of living in your self-projected
Shadow within
This town you think you were neglected
Well I turned out just fine
It's funny how some things will never change
You were born a prince
Scoffing at the sky above your head
