It’s nights like tonight when I think of you.
Laughing and talking with friends,
You would love it.
The bit too much to drink
The reminiscing, the fun.
My whole world reminds me of you
From the hobbies I pursue
to the values I hold as my core
You were my perfect match
But I couldn’t be perfect for you
I was flawed
But no mater how hard I tried
I couldn’t correct in time
I learned and grew so much
But not enough
I want to be enough
But can I ever be?
I’ll keep trying
To be the person you wanted me to be
The person I know I am
But apparently you never saw
