Listening through the bedroom door
To the roommates voices
Discussing shoe arrangement choices
And their living on the highest floor.

Looking through the kitchen window
Through the trees to a rooftops’ excess
A soft fall breeze and sunrays caress
Sun-kissed hands with a deep thirst to know.

Feeling the cool of the kitchen counter
Together, cooking a meal meant to dine
Loud chatter, soft laughter and taking the time
A warm fuzzy blanket of affectionate banter.

Peaceful nights, jolly evenings and days,
Good company in a beautiful flat
But as time flies – as soon as we met,
We part and forever - nobody stays.
