Playing at the park,
mother said be back by dark.
These memories flood my mind,
as I remember the past left behind.
I sit at a park bench,
my heart starting to wrench.
Tears fall down my face,
as I remember this place.
My childhood went by in a flash,
now I have to worry about having enough cash.
Why is this age such a difficult one,
different from when I was young and had lots of fun.
I might be older,
but im far less bolder.
To my son, don't let your youth go to waste,
Or they'll be just memories you'll forever chase.
