Kings**

As choristers we saw them
Regularly in their black
Limousines, their aides
Carrying gifts for display
In the royal apartments.

Kings, whose gait spoke
Of the heavy matters of state,
bent grey heads
To converse with the Majesty,
A small woman in a pale green coat
Carrying a large handbag
