To my Squirrel - returned to the wild

~

Elvis Wolverine Trahan Tkz! Tkz!

was accidentally released into the wild

and it has been stormy most days since

and so my heart howls

i saw him once sitting on top of the fence

tufts of hair blowing in the wind, but

he ran from when i ran to and

it's not that i expect him to want to come back

i know he's gone

i just wasn't ready to release him yet

i was going to let him get a little older and build him a little house

and do it slowly

when it was warm

and we would of played in the grass until he was ready to go to sleep in his little house

and we would have worn daisies and dandelions in our hair

but he's gone and my heart howls

i dream of storms

i dream of him large like a cat

winding through my arms

and touching my nose

with his
