Before
My biggest fear is loving him too much.
I’m not afraid of the dark.
I’m not afraid of bees.
I’m not afraid of ghosts.
I’m not afraid of sharks.
I’m not afraid of heights.
I’m not afraid of death.
I’m afraid I’ll love him more than he loves me.
The most painful feeling is loving someone more than they love you.
I told him this.
I warned him I love too much.
I warned him before we even said love.
And he said

Me too.

Now
we love each other equally.
So if I ever wonder how much he loves me.
I think about how much I love him
And then I smile
Because I know he loves me that much too.
And that is something I can say
Without a single doubt in my mind.
You never forget your first love.
