Black is my drug
Time to write out our lives and show them out pain
Just cause we are of color doesn’t mean we don’t know the game
It’s quite the opposite, in books we see how the white men lives
But we of color can tell that story from two perspectives
Life made out of struggle just cause of melanin
But only the strong get trials that means were natural born kings
We all know the sayings “Black is strength, Black don’t crack”
But how much of you really believe that?
That goes deeper than wrinkles in the skin
It’s the strength and prosperity that we pass to our Kim
It the fact that we know God and adore his name
We don’t need lust or drugs or even fame
What makes us different is more than color
We’re the only ones strong enough to convert pain to love and hope
And not turn to satan for hatred and dope
So the next time someone comments don’t shrug
Just turn to them, smile and say it proudly,
BLACK IS MY DRUG.
