The first personal time machines will offer access to infinity on both ends;
but only fools dare go that far in either direction; x-treme timers race to the end of time as far as is known;                                                 the ancient

                                                 computers unnoticed &     ignored by the
                                                          long ago ancestors of our ancestors;
                                                     their ships arriving from space harness
early volcanic power & built monumental
magnetic structures that endow mere men
w/ superhuman powers; the ability to fly
lift great stones; carving boulders out
of mountain sides; molding lava as it cools
into gigantic solid structures;       focusing
the sun's rays into a laser cleanly shearing
the dense stone like a wisp of paper; others
go too far into the future, or not far enough;
those that do             manage to come back,  
tell                       of being hunted in a dark,
        glowering landscape
of tall glass buildings &     dangerous traps
& clandestine & open            warfare on all side
[don't go into the future]       they tell everyone;
