As you ran through my house

You didn't notice you had knocked me down

Until you heard the crash.

You lied to her when she asked

And you said you didn't break me

I was in the way while you were chasing after something

That you thought was better.

But it wasn't and you never got it

And you cried as you watch her collect my peices

And I cut her hand and she cried too

But only a little.

And she glued me back together

The best that she could.

No one could really notice

Unless they got real close.

But I knew.

I could feel every crack,

Every gaping hole that you faced towards the wall

So the neighbors wouldn't see.

And years passed,

And you could never look at me the same.

Because I was broken

And you knew why.
