The dawn breaks on a spring morn
Green buds burst anew
A child is born
His first cry is heard

Summer comes and flowers bloom
Green leaves spread aloft
A child grows and wanders far
All the world awaits him

Autumn brings the falling leaves
They brown and flutter down
The child ages into man
His hair turns grey, his back is stooped

Winter shows its icy teeth
Wind blows the clouds away
The man has had his time at last
And to the earth his ashes go
