the drunken poet; reciting wildly
to the gathering cult
impelled by the god Dionysus
            ["the god that comes"]
[/daɪ.əˈnaɪsəs/; Greek:
     Διόνυσος Dionysos;     god
of the grape harvest,  wine
pressing & drinking; of ritual, |
        madness, fertility,       theater
& ecstasy, religious & mystic;
the temple *******, struck by
Eros' arrow, couldn't stop
thinking about the lovely drunk;
finding him passed out in the gutter
one noon she brought him
 |     into the shady temple;
    servicing him before he awakens;
he dreamed he had been given head
by Aphrodite: her vocation fulfilled,
she let him wander dazed
      back into the sunlight;
      no longer a blind man,      it was as if his
            ***** had eyes;
the drunken poet soon finding his way
    back inside the temple to search the
     for the goddess but only finding the
   sacred ***** huddled in her stola in
    wait for her lost love to materialize;
the poet reciting his paean to Aphrodite
the ***** leaps from her clothing & attaching
              herself to his body & calls   out to her
        hidden temple sisters; all bodies of dark hair &
                              as he sinks below the limbs of the
     muscular,                           writhing female torsos,
     above his head               the poet sees the goddess
         of Love & Beauty
     staring down w/ Eros at her side;   Dionysus
     nearby sipping from a golden chalice inlaid
                                       w/ precious lapis lazuli
