It may seem all like beauty
Through all the scrutiny
There is more to see
Take the hurt and pain
And watch what you paint
Make my sorrow worthy

Behind those eyes, the tears that cry
From having my butterfly dreams
And rainbow means, even if the glitter stings
I won’t let go of all my dreams

Even without sunshine
She bloomed like a rose
Starved from the water
Up and open she grew
Thorns from the others
Protecting her, she knew

Behind those eyes, the tears that cry
From having my butterfly dreams
And rainbow means, even if the glitter stings
I won’t let go of all my dreams

The battles are done, the war is over
Thought I’d lost, but it was an eye opener
I am still here, dodged a bullet there
Can’t fight too long, when you’re in the wrong
I know it is time to move along

Behind those eyes, the tears that cry
From having my butterfly dreams
And rainbow means, even if the glitter stings
I won’t let go of all my dreams
