love is not lasting.

its body, its shape,
a mere faint breathe among touch-starved bodies;
among crippled souls,
too eager to discover, too eager to disguise.

love is not lasting.

its cozening of faulty hopes,
owns,
it wraps around our hollowing bodies like clay;
captures us, weakens us.

he loves
he loves
he loves

until he lets go.

love is not lasting.

we hold on too long and the wound only gets deeper.
