I speak to the rain when it visits my windows
frequent
calls from the souls I met in my past life
and I know that they’re just checking on me
Taking care of me as they had before.
Sometimes sneering in disappointment
As they watch me make the same mistakes
Seeing my soul devoured by the same fears
That haunted my days with them.
I ask them for solitude
mercy, mercy, I hope you speak my name
thunder shakes my foundation
please tell me you have good news for me, my old friend
Tell me there’s a chance the life I lead now will be different from the last.
Tell me my soul will learn and grow and finally find peace in this life
Or the next
I beg you my friend,
Tell me
if we’ll live happily again?
