I think of you
When the sky is early blue
As it was this morning

I think of you
With this tenderness
You’ve given me to know

I think of you
In your single bed
Asleep even now

I think of you
Waking to the sound of the sea
To the breakfast voices of children

I think of you
Your quiet body
Folded against my own

I think of you
My front to your back
My heart beating against you

I think of you
Turning over and holding me
In the still warmness of sleep

I think of you
Loving me in your waking
As I love you now in this writing

I think of you
Though far away
So very close
