Today, you are
Six feet away
From me, but I
Still can't see
Your face at all.

Last time I did,
You had the best,
The biggest grin,
And I didn't
Even have hair
On my young chin.

You are six feet
Away from me,
But I hardly
Know who you are,
Or what your voice
Even sounds like.
Please, who are you?

I hear silent
Tears, falling all
Around me like
A waterfall.
Three women stand
Surrounding me,
Crying their
Silent call.

Twelve years goes
By quicker when
You don't know
The missing, the
Absent person.
Four years is far
Too young to know
Someone even
If they are kin.

Today, you are
Six feet away
From me, but I
Still can't see
Your face at all.
I hear silent
Tears, falling all
Around me like
A waterfall.
Wrote this in middle school. It's about my father who passed away when I was 4.
