fire inside

she was a flame

steady and unwavering

until she met him

he held a bic lighter

and a bad reputation

he brought his flame closer to hers

making hers grow

to heights like no other

he made her burn brighter

than a bonfire

but one day his lighter fluid ran out

and he left to get another bic

but never returned

her flame began to lose height

until it barely gave off light

and one day,

a gust of wind blew past her

and knocked her flame out
