I think I saw you in my sleep
as you held me close, you did not keep
the quiet whispers in your heart
flutter around the room like a dove
upon these words I faintly saw
the loneliness inside your heart
it did not move, it did not creep
it did not speak
it sat there at the edge of the bed
with sweet sorrows among it’s head
it lowered it’s eyes to the floor
and said “I cannot take this anymore”
and once the loneliness fell
and hit the ground
you lifted my head and kissed me so
softly letting me go
I see you now in my dreams
as I sleep
as I sleep
