Only at night does the world show its true face, only with stars do people stop their pretend.

Only at night are  the games not played, everyone becomes the robber and the cops aren't there.

Only when children cry in their beds, do you see humanity fully expressed.
Only when children escape through windows, do you see the leaders of tomorrow.

Only at night do the stars come out, only at night do wolves howl at the dark.

Only at night is the pain really felt.
Only at night do people kneel in prayer.

Only at night do people dream of a better place, eyes wide shut and hope no-one shakes them awake.

Only at night and not during the day.

For in the day, we all smile and pretend we're all ok.
