Birds fly close
Like speed boats rush
Past my eyes
Past my smile
Past my life

Rocks lay low
Like permanent clouds above
Crunch under my shoes
Move beneath my boots
That one is from the moon

Burned Moon is high
Look at that chunk!
It’s just like a street light
It’s the pupil of a goddess’s eye
It lights dreams at night

Didn’t know about the river snake
It grew legs and it’s all around
I could freak out of here in a muddy truck
I could offer its spirit some of my blood
I could exhale and give it all up...
